I think these were both good folds.

Hand 1, you're losing to any A, Q, or 6. It's very unlikely SB is bluffing.

Hand 2, against 4 opponents you're basically looking for a set or all undercards with JJ. Good fold.

In the first sitation, you really have too call. Even though you prolly lose here, you will certainly win more than once in eleven times, which will make the call profitable. Often they are just making some kind of play on you here.

Hand two is a much more akward situation. Player reads would certainly make this a much easier decision to make.

I just don't agree with this. I always make that call, and it surprises me how often they are just making some kind of play.

Sorry I should have mentioned hand reads....though they weren't important in this case, since they both came early. Wanted to know if anyone had any options on the odds on calling these down.

Hand 1: First hand at the table, thus the BB.
Hand 2: Second hand at a different table, SB.

I agree I've seen some strange plays, but what hand do you put the SB on that you're still ahead of? I understand the pot odds are good, but I don't ever see the Hero winning the pot here. I read the SB as having a hand better than jacks and not wanting to miss a bet.

Just read Hero was new to the table thus no read on SB. I guess in this case I'd call down, but I'd still expect to be beaten.

Of course you'd expect to be beaten. I am just saying you will win often enough to show a profit.
