Am I the only one who feels OK about this?

They can scan running programs and take screen shots. I'm ok with it, as long as they catch and do something about bots (if they exist, that is).

I think it is a necessary evil with WinHoldEm, PokerProphecy and PokerEdge only being the first wave of attack. The integrity of the game is of such importance that I don't mind Party scanning what processes I have running.

It is a far cry from 'hacking' my computer.

"Party Poker had no controls over the employees that were conducting these searches. None of the employees were screened for security jobs, they had no special clearances or background checks. Most made less in a day than the average American makes in an hour.

A large number of my fellow employees joked about things they found on Party Poker clients' computers. Things such as letters to loved ones, pornography, and other personal information. It became a big joke to see who could find the next funny thing. Even worse, there were whispers of personal financial information found on harddrives of people's computers. What was done with this information, I cannot say, as I quit at this time because of this behavior.

Party Poker itself is not trying to steal your information, however, they have little to no control over the people they hire and give complete access to your personal information."

So the above isn't true or it is true but you think it's nothing to worry about?

It may be true, in the sense that if some guy had porn, a financial spreadsheet or his password text file open at the same time as Party and Party took a screenshot, they'd get his information. It's not true in the sense that Party can scan your hard drive for files and upload it to themselves, because they don't/almost certainly can't.

Of course, if you have a poker site fetish and have to have a porno on the screen while you play, you may be getting laughed at in India right now.

I'm a web programmer, not a desktop, so I don't KNOW FOR SURE, but they installed software on your computer and are communicating back and forth. They can do pretty much anything on your computer. When you install party they practically dust your registry for fingerprints. You may not store sensitive info on your computer, but they could install something that records every keystroke and sends it to them. From that, they would get any paypal, neteller, online banking stuff. Of course, you, someone, could and would detect them doing this.

What self-respecting multi-tabler doesn't keep porn on in the background?

www.partypokerhacksyou.com is our site, it's far from a death cry, just a secondary income source.

The difference between Party and every other sites is that on Party you are guilty until proven innocent. Meaning they will check everyone for everything randomly. On other sites, you are innocent until proven guilty. They won't scan your computer unless they have a complaint/reason.

PokerProphecy is still very much in business and not going anywhere. Soon we'll be combining Party Poker with our other sites and offer them all for $20.00 a month. Existing customers will be grandfathered in. That way if someone feels uncomfortable at Party they can still use the program at any of our other sites (using our signup links if they like) or cancel and quit paying monthly. We may switch Party over to an e-mail service, where you e-mail the table number in the subject line, we automatically process it, and within 60 seconds you get a return e-mail with stats, a graphical table representation, etc, so our customers can print it.

Right, so I'm assuming their software can't/doesn't do this because we'd know about that by now. However, if you store your passwords in a text file and have it open while logged onto Party, you may be in trouble.
