Default Best Limit Hold\'em Tournament Book

I have browsed through Cloutier and McEvoy's Championship Hold'em book, even though I heard this series is generally terrible. Needless to say, it didn't impress too much.

This leaves me wondering... are there ANY great Limit Hold'em Tournament books out there??? Perhaps any published under the 2+2 name?

Not exactly a Limit Hold'em book, but I certainly do agree. Great for general tournament strategy that can be applied across te entire spectrum of tournaments.

Looking more for a book that goes into the minutia of limit hold'em tournaments. Starting hand requirements, differences from Limit ring games, how to deal with maniacs, etc.

Ken Buntjer's book was surprisingly good. Sickeningly priced, but good.

TPFAP---if you read the problems, the majority have to do with limit holdem tournies....give it a re-read, i was surprised at how much information is packed into those problems.

Mason said that the Limit tournament section in this book was "quite good". I thought so also.

Hi wetleg:

Not quite. Here is what I wrote:

The tournament section of the book is much better. Now their strategies which address players who are playing tight because they can’t buy back in if they lose a couple of hands are far more accurate. In addition, this section is written more concisely than the rest of the book.

Best wishes,
Mason

Hi Mushu and Acehigh7:

I'm curious, but did Buntjer write another book from the one I read?

Best wishes,
Mason

Nope. I think we read the same one "Secret to Winning Big in Tournament Poker". I have read your review of it Mason, & I have to say I agree with all the points you made about it. Every one of your observations was dead on.

However, for some reason I still find it very helpful. I don't know exactly what it is about that book, but it helped my limit tournament game immensely. I just feel that I understand the different phases of a limit tourney and how to manage my chip stack better than before.

Regards,
AcesHigh7

PS: TPFAP is a must also.
