you should never use the word "sip" for the same reason that when you do take a (swig/drink/taste/try) you dont extend your pinky finger out why you have the bottle titled to your lips. Get my drift?

But yeah, there is no big deal about trying out another mans beer.

Sure....it starts with just a beer

OP's original request is fine, provided he rephrases to "can I try that?"

And for God's sake put a sock in it, Steve.

I agree with you, "sip" is a bad choice of a word, He might as well have said "Here babe hold my Raspberry Comso while I run and tinkle."

It's not Ok to ask. It is OK to accept if someone very close to you, like a family member, offers you a taste.

It's fine, why shouldn't you do it? Is it gay?

EDIT: posted this before reading the reply directly about mine which is pathetic and lame. don't worry, it's ok, your manhood cannot be taken away by drinking a sip of someone else's beer. as far as i know, no one has ever done this and suddenly found they have a vagina.

I can't believe this many people think it will turn them into a gaymo, or is an indicator of being a gaymo.

If they don't offer it after you ask them how it is, then you don't ask for a sip

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, if it goes:

a: hey what'd you get?
b: uncommon beer #37
a: how is it?
b: pretty good, try it.

then a is allowed to try the beer.

a shouldn't ask if it is not offered. a should just buy a beer or ask for a sample depending on the bar if he wants to try the beer and it isn't offered.
