Default 5/10 NL 6Max....Is this chip spewing?

Villain is sandbag. 38/28ish. Laggy.

I do a lot of overbetting all-in with good non-nut hands disguising them as busted draws, pot size value betting with hands that are weak but which I think are the best, etc.

I figured this seemed like a good spot to throw in a bluff. Results aside, anyone like/hate?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

MP ($1048)
CO ($1145.50)
Button ($1589.25)
SB ($1871.34)
BB ($1576.50)
Hero ($1156)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with T:[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $5.
Hero raises to $35, 4 folds, BB calls $25.

Flop: ($75) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $55, BB calls $55.

Turn: ($185) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($185) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero calls $1066 (All-In), BB calls $1066.

Final Pot: $2317

Results in white below:
BB has As 5s (one pair, aces).
Hero has Tc Qh (high card, ace).
Outcome: BB wins $2317.

Yeah, I think you will get looked up by any Ace. Possibly a K.

It appears that you have disguised your complete bluff as a busted draw.

I would say its a needless bluff, but I still cant believe he called that. I think you need to bet flop..check turn...push river more often with monster hands against him.

I gotta say, awesome call by the BB

I don't like any play that has to be successful 80% of the time just to break even. Having said that, I don't see many hands calling you in that spot that played the hand that way up to that point. I think a pot-sized bet on the river would've been both more believable and more profitable in the long run.

Nothing wrong as long as you get called next time when you do have it, but unless you play with this Villain often that opportunity might not come up.

The fun with gross overbets is that, if you have it, it only neets to get called like 1/10 of the time (for a 10x pot bet) to be better than a pot sized value bet (that mostly always gets called). However, if you don't have it, it has to work like 9/10 of the time. You're inflating the odds the wrong way.

I'm not sure there's any spot for this bet with absolute air. If you think he can make this call with A5, then its a phenominal bet with like two pair or a set or something. You can't expect them to pay off your feigned busted draw overbets but fold to your overbets when you really have nothing. It doesn't work like that.

nope...making this call with A5 in the long run is very -EV against a normal range.
