Default How do you get over screwing up?

Whether it be incorrectly calling an all in for your whole stack, getting a traffic ticket, being expelled from school, caught cheating by wife, etc.

How do you get over that awful feeling?

Accept your action for what it is. Acknowledge the pain you have caused and do your best to make amends. Once you clear your conscience, time has a way of making the pain go away.

Worse comes to worst, I tell myself "it could be worse."

Blow my stack with a bad call? It could be worse. I could have never accumulated that stack to begin with and had the opportunity to play. Remember, the next best thing to playing and winning is playing and losing.

Got a traffic ticket? It could be worse. I could have gotten in a wreck.

Got expelled from school (or in my case, fired?) It could be worse. I could be unable to go to school or work to support myself.

Got caught cheating? (I've never cheated, and I hope I never do.) It could be worse. I could be so ugly/stupid/whatever that no woman would ever want to be with me. She slapped me and burned all my stuff? Could be worse, I could have gotten the Bobbitt.

I think Trump said it best: "I don't have time to worry about what happened or what I could have done differently. That just wastes time that should be spent on planning what I'll do from that point forward."

FWIW - hope this helps.

I have a fool proof solution for you.

1. You need to play naked at your computer.
2. You need to have a strong elastic right there next to your computer with you.
3. Every time you make a play that is idiotic snap yourself HARD right in the nads with the elastic.

Getting expelled from school or caught cheating by the wife seem like rather bigger deals than calling all-in for a stack of chips.

AA,

For cash games, I review all my big winners & losers after a session. If I remember correct you play SNGs, so if I were you I'd consider looking over as many bubble sessions as possible.
