What an interesting question. My first win came in my 5th final table appearance. I got drastically outplayed HU, but sucked out on two very critical hands to get the chiplead, and got AA to his QQ while he was still fuming about it. Luckyluckylucky, but I'm not giving him a refund.

Tom, I couldn't agree with you more. SNG and 2/3 tables are a gift from the poker gods. Talk about getting FT experience on the cheap.

2nd final table. First was a live $200 buyin, got 6th (after coming to final table as massive chip leader). Second (win) was a live $75 buyin, I think it had ~140 entries.

Won my 1st final table at a Poker Room $6 with 318 entries.

I didnt know how to play very well yet. I had recently watched Dewey Tomko play Paul Phillips on tv HU and Dewey went all in every hand. (he was behind by about 5:1 in chips) It didnt end up working for him but I liked his style.

When I got HU at my 1st final table the other player had a 3:1 chip lead and I started going all in about every other hand. I'm sure my luckbox had something to do with it, but my strategy worked.

I've had one final table out of about 10 or so. I went into it a bit shortstacked. Went all in UTG with JJ, the button calls me with J10o and hits his straight , sigh.

Good question!

Online, I won my very 1st FT almost 2 years ago to the day, 1st out of 278 on 7sultans poker.

Live, I won my 2nd FT at Foxwoods (1st FT was at Aladdin), 1st out of 196. This is B+M only, I am not including any home or private games.
