Re: Movie Review: The Aviator
The thing is, the Academy really wants to give Best Picture to a Scorsese film at some point. It looks back at Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and Goodfellas, and just feels so sorry and stupid that he didn't get an award...thus, they are making up for it by overpraising his more recent, flawed films.

Re: Movie Review: The Aviator
[ QUOTE ]
Haven't seen the "film". The only thing I've ever seen Leo do a good job in was that Gilbert Grape thing because his eyes are too close together and he kinda looks retarded anyway. [/ QUOTE ] he is a damn good actor and makes alot of good movies. |

Retard Roles
[ QUOTE ]
The only thing I've ever seen Leo do a good job in was that Gilbert Grape [/ QUOTE ] Easily Leo's most overrated flick. Why? Because like Howard Stern says, "Anybody can play a retard." Same goes for Sean Penn in "I Am Sam," or Harrison Ford in "Regarding Henry." -dsm |

Re: Retard Roles
I always considered this more of a Johnny Depp flick than a Leo flick, and as such, it's one of my favorites. Also a great supporting character from Crispin Glover.
