where were you two minutes ago? I called. he had AJ (WTF?!) and won. We went straight to hand-to-hand and obviously 8 people busted BEFORE the next hand was dealt.

Didn't notice that this was a sattelite at first. That processed, even there are 2 other folks all-in on this hand, it's pretty unlikely that all 3 are going to lose. You are almost certainly going to need to win this hand for that ticket, and the good news is that you have a well above average hand. All-in.

Wow. Really? OK, if people are dropping out at the rate of more than 3/round, sure, go ahead and fold. I assumed that this would be like a standard party bubble where the last really take a while to go out.

Well, if you're going hand for hand, I say stall as long as possible, watch and see if any others drop during this hand. Otherwise, I think you have to call here.
