Default 98o in BB

First hand absolute 2/4 first BB, no reads.

98o in the BB 6handed and the flop comes 923 rainbow. i had no idea what to do and rather than lead into 5 players I checked intending to raise a late bet. well it comes from the BU and SB calls...still worth a c/r or now a c/c or c/f?

worth a c/r. sb will have any 2/3/overs usually (as far as worse hands go).

and really i would bet this into 5 players.

We didn't see the pre-flop action, but I guess betting into 5 players gives at least 7:1 to the field, right? Are we folding any overcards with this bet? If the bet is for value (and not to thin & buy safe cards), I wonder how much value do you think it has?

If you bet, and get 3+ callers, and the turn is a J,Q,K or A, then what's your plan?

I'm asking to learn. Thanks.

i didnt like betting since everyone is going to call, i wanted to try and limit the field. if i bet into evevyone and got called i was going to c/f any A or K i think.

yeah I would definitely still c/r, SB could jsut be peeling garbage here.

the flop vs. c/r question is a tough one. I think it's close enough that i would usually lean towards betting when the general post -flop aggression is more to my left than my right --- that makes sense right?

Its still worth a cr, you can't just call here.

I would Think of what Ed Miller said "Raising when you should call can cost you one bet, calling when you should raise can cost the whole pot".

Yes, this does make sense. But, since we have no reads in this hand, I prefer to c/r a late position bettor (as in posted action) and c/c an early position bettor.
