Re: Paul Phillips--thank you
Well, his hair is a different color or style in just about every TV appearance he's had. He made two WPT appearances, winning one, and was at final of that live Fox broadcast (Turning Stone?). Also Championship at the Plaza, as well.

[ QUOTE ]
Still, I much prefer rgp-as-it-once-was to twoplustwo-as-it-is for a lot of reasons, some philosophical (e.g. I don't like moderation without accountability), some practical (e.g. the twoplustwo interface is horrible compared to a good usenet client). [/ QUOTE ] Paul Are you using flat or threaded mode? The above comment makes me think you're in threaded mode, in which case switching to flat should make things easier to navigate. Just to add to the other comments, I think your posts on here to date have added immensely to this forum in a short space of time. I sincerely hope that you never find it necessary to stop posting here or that the moderators ever feel the need to 'yank' one of your posts. Sheriff |

Re: Paul Phillips--thank you
I looked up Paul's RGP post on AA vs a table full of all-ins.
I must say, some of his points were really earth shattering for me. They will change the ways I approach tournaments forever. I used to approach a tournament like a contest, and I needed to make sure I placed as high as possible while avoinding risks that could knock me out, only to move up a place or two. The key elements I got from his response were these. 1. Time is valuable. Make the plays that maximizes your earning potential. 2. If you get eliminated early, you are now free to move to the next tournament or ring game and make money. I would really like to see Paul write a book. Not a specific poker strategy book, but something like Poker Nation that would include stories and some poker strategy tossed in for good measure. |

Re: Paul Phillips--thank you
If you watch WPT, Paul is the guy who came in second at The Commerce(I think) because of a terrible river call, this is when he still had a full head of hair . Then I believe in the next season he won an event(not sure which one), but this time he had a shaved head. He seems like a real good player and an overall good guy. I am glad he is here! Same with Annie Duke.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think he is, at least he's not on this list: Forbes but he did sell a dot com business a while back which I guess he made a boat load of money off of. At least that's my understanding, anyone feel free to correct me. |
