Default Gilpin poker room in trouble?

I went to Blackhawk for the first time in months and I heard at the tables that the Gilpin poker room is in big trouble and that the dealers are not making very much money...especially compared to other dealers in the mountains. It was said that they are running too many tourneys and it's affecting their income. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I sure hope not -- the Gilpen is by far my favorite room in Blackhawk. I shudder ever time I remember that I used to play Lodge . . .

Well, there's little doubt that tips/hour are significantly lower in tourneys than cash games. And since the Gilpin does run lots of tourneys I can definitely see this being the case. I would miss the tourneys but personally I don't find the cash games much different from the other casinos on the hill.

The Gilpin is definintely the nicest room up there. It's out of the way from the slots and the non-smoking tables are great.

I would miss the 2/4 tables. I wish other rooms up there would offer it.
