I have no idea what you're talking about.

Your "I don't understand anything about pop culture/sports/etc." bit is pretty tired.

FIFA thread - I have no idea what you're talking about.

Top Down Screaming out - i have no idea what you're talking about.

Now, if your above quote was intentional, that makes it funny. Something tells me it wasn't. You can easily google FIFA, or just ignore it because you don't know what it's about, instead of just being the guy.

I could ignore it but I like to know what's going on. i could also google it, but it's not hard for someone to say "it's soccer standings".

The real question is how are Mexico and the US ahead of France, England, Spain, and Portugal. Seriously, are we (or Mexico) a favorite against any of those teams at a neutral site? Can't see it.

France, England, and Spain are all in serious danger of missing the World Cup. The US is not.

look, its a pretty well known fact that the FIFA rankings are kinda flawed. Yes it is cool that we are ranked as high as we are, but any football fan knows that a full strength USA side wouldn't normally beat a full strength england, france, or portugal side. France's low ranking is becasue they are having a very bad world cup qualifying run, and are in danger of not even making it to the world cup playoff places for UEFA. The USA is a solid team and does deserve to be in the top 15 places in the world rankings, but I do think that 6 is way too high

I have been telling people for atleast 2 years that the U.S. will seriously compete for the next World Cup. Very few people believed me for some completely absurd reason.

Q: what sports have Americans been good at consistently for years?
A: Baseball, basketball, and football.

Q: What sport has becoming increasingly more popular in suburban America for the past 20 years, to the point no where its at a ridiculous level?
A: Soccer

When I was a kid, soccer was starting to become very popular, traveling teams were being assembled, elite clubs for kids, summer camps. This 6th place ranking is the fruitition of that. I think the sky is the limit for U.S. soccer, and tears are on the way for more and more Euro's.

Although, I still think its boring to watch. Fun as hell to play though.
