Default Live vs. online

scrub, jason_t, and Thirddan are sweating me playing 20/40 at Bay 101. Three limpers to me and I limp with 7h 8h in the hijack, a tight CO folds, button raises, an aggressive SB 3-bets, BB calls, limpers call, I think for a moment, glance at the button's hands, which have cut out 8 chips, and I fold.

you are getting ~9-1 on a $40 call assuming button doesnt cap. You also have the second best position. I'd gamble and call or cap it wtf..

would you have played this if these guys were not sweating you? my guess is yes. I'm not usually a fan of playing suited connectors for more than 1 raise but you are getting tons of action here and your position is another huge plus..gamble it up and call..

If your read on the button is correct it will still be 8-1 on call. Do you feel like gambling... 500-60 assuming everyone calls. I intially skimmed and missed the last sentence of your post. I'm still going for it and gambling ..just because he has 8 chips in his hand doesnt mena he has to cap it..this is could also be a scare tactic to hopefully keep the limpers from calling the sb's re-raise...

just fooling around with PokerStove if you guess at a specifc hand for each position ..I used laggish standards because these limpers sound like donkeys. I dont have time to do a range of hands for each position ..it would look something like this:

501,942 games 0.015 secs 33,462,800 games/sec

Board:
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 26.5756 % 26.56% 00.02% { QcQd }
Hand 2: 14.2182 % 14.20% 00.02% { 4h4s }
Hand 3: 03.5281 % 02.88% 00.65% { AsJh }
Hand 4: 13.0359 % 12.49% 00.55% { Js9s }
Hand 5: 10.8506 % 10.73% 00.12% { Ad2d }
Hand 6: 16.5519 % 16.54% 00.02% { 7h6h }
Hand 7: 15.2397 % 15.12% 00.12% { AcKh }

tough to pin down but I'd guess you are more often than not making the correct play to call espeically with position..In this scenario you should win ~ 1 in 6 hands. Whether it is just $40 to you or $60 a call seems to be correct mathmetically.

I think you should call even if button is going to cap.

using PokerStove again .If you switched out player#4 to be Th9h-same as your suit. your hand really becomes marginal where you only win 12.34% or 1 in 8 roughly. More often than not though I would guess with a normal distribution of hands that your call is an overlay but there could be situations where you are in deep sshit..

Holding a suited connector, you're about 3.6 to 1 against flopping two pair, an OESD, a flush draw, or better. Facing 6 opponents in a capped pot, your implied 3 bets to call are going to be getting 25:3 (assuming everyone comes for the ride), or around 8:1. So you have a good overlay on an odds basis.

On the other hand, while you have late position, the raiser is to your left and the 3-bettor is immediately to his left--thus putting you in the middle if the 3-bettor leads the flop. This hand could be tricky to play after the flop, and a lot of your outs even if they hit on the flop, aren't necessarily good (like flopping a str8 draw on a monotone board, etc.

You can call, but the odds you appear to be getting are pretty deceiving. I probably fold.

4 or 5 bet cap? Just curious, because I think you should call it regardless. Equity is not bad even if we infer a tighter range for button because we believe he will cap (instead of just relying on his initial range). Won't be too tough to play post, I think. Pretty good relative position whether SB or Button becomes post-flop leader. Ginormous pot when you flop well. Mostly because it is fun to play in ginormous pots, and you need to find some fun getting 35 hands an hour.
