stupidsucker, I liked your response.

It made my brain stop when im staring at two draws, but both draws are the ass end. Often I will release an edge if I feel its just too tricky. I still have chips, and I think there are better spots.

Very good thoughts.

No fold equity...I mean I don't think I can get everyone to fold. Maybe I'm using the wrong term here but it seems right. If there is little chance of getting everyone to fold, than I think I have to lay it down. It's a coin flip, it's pretty hahaha but still a flip. IMO the only value it has is gambling or getting everyone to fold.

Technically, that's true. However, if a K falls, the only way someone can have a higher straight is with AT.

If I push, they'd have to be a complete tool to call with AT (especially since I already hold the Tc).

There are draws that are to the ass end and then there are draws that are to the ass end.

If a King hits, you are only on the ass end to AT, and does AT go for it here? As far as the flush goes, there are only 2 clubs on the board, not three. The draws aren't to the nuts, but they are pretty solid.

Dammit, I started writing that before I saw your post.

This is a 109. Sorry Yugo, there is no option for Fold PF.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's okay. I call this in a 109 anyway, .

Then I check/stuff to that action...

I want both the turn and river for my hand.

PS After reading the replies I would say see Adanthar for what certainly would be better written reasoning than I was planning...but basically along the same lines.

Regardless, you're only getting called by:

QQ
JJ
KcQc
AcQc
QJ
44

[/ QUOTE ]

I was actually called by both the BB and UTG. Neither had any of these hands. So much for the idea that the players must be decent because this is a 109.

The BB had KTo. UTG had AA. Neither had a club.

I rivered a K. Straight cash homey.

(Ironically, someone limped with AA on the very next hand and got busted by the BB's T6o. Brilliant.)

I was most disturbed by UTG's raise to 250 here. That's a pretty weird bet given that there was already a bet and call for 100.

I figured he probably had a very good hand, but may have just been raising for a free card or to get information (whatever that means).

I'm still not sure that pushing was correct, but it worked this time, I guess.

damn, I didn't get to this post before the results were posted. oh well, pretending i didn't read the above post: I'de call in a $20, but in a $100 I'm pushing (based on my assumption of the $100s from only playing the $50s). People who say call because pushing has no FE are probably coming from the lower buy ins where a player raising there usually means that he is willing to put his whole stack in. At the $100s though the original bettor could have a very wide range of hands and is probably going to drop whatever pair he has, and the flop raiser could be testing the original bettor and drop his Q from an UTG push (which looks very intimidating)

A push will get called a lot of times by a set or TPTK, but the times you take down the pot without a showdown moves this play from marginal to profitable IMO

FWIW, I voted check and push. I'm not positive pushing is correct, but I don't think it can be "wrong"
