Default Blind war: Paired flop; wait for turn to semi-bluff?

As far as I remember, villain was your standard aggro 10/20 6-max chump. Normally I would raise the flop HU with a flush draw. With the paired flop, I figured I could represent trips much better with a turn raise.

On this kind of board, I'm taking a lot of my decent hands to showdown just because its the type of board that will induce bluffs. That said, I do wait til the turn to raise my flush draws sometimes, but I think I would just check-call here most of the time.

I do this a lot. Nobody gives any credit to a flop raise on this board. I think you still get called down a lot by ace high here, but there is a pretty good chance your opponent is on some crap like Q8, which is very rarely calling down.

I agree with sam...the texture of this board engenders many A-high calldowns, but you will fold out many better, unpaired hands with a turn raise. I wouldn't play it this way every time, though.

Against what type of villain is this preflop call good ?

ps : I like the turn raise

All but the ridiculously passive-types.
