Default Another Paulson Chip Design for your review

Got this today. Something to consider. Looks interesting.

http://www.apachepokerchips.com/blackhillscasino.html

I *should* have a sample of the new, "re-designed" Paulsons within a week or so.

Cheers,
John

Those look cool. I just wish Paulson hadn't felt it necessary to put "PAULSON CHIPS" into the mold. That totally ruins it for me.

What's with the "Which chip do you like better?" thing at the end with the picture of one of these and one of the Pharoah's? Is there a custom poker chip war brewing on the horizon? Haha, too funny.

if it is, then it's a war jpsh /apache/dice has started against 100-200 people in the pharos group buy, not against me. i think he made a poor choice when copied our design and THEN took a direct shot at us. a boycott is brewing on chiptalk (not endorsed by me, i've been nothing but nice to josh).

I refuse to believe that there are enough people with taste bad enough for Apache to ever get close to the 100 000 chip minimum.

He doesn't need to get a minimum, he can pay cash for 250,000 chips. Maybe it's not about money right now? He doesn't have to sell them right away, chips don't go bad... Our group buy doesn't have that luxury.

It looks like to took a step in the right direction (good for you Josh) by taking down the jab at Pharos group buy. More discussions here: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=717

I actually like the generic branded Paulson chips (with the large denominations and logo) because they match best with the mold. The two chips in that link just don't look right with that mold.

While that may make a good match, I still greatly prefer the pure tophat and cane mold or even the older JB "shell" mold. I just don't care for words molded into the rim of the chip and particularly don't want to see an advert for the manufacturer.

I also don't care for many of the vegas chips that have the casino name molded into it either (Mandalay Bay and Excalibur come to mind).

The classiest chips I've seen yet are from the Venetian.

But, that's just my taste.

I have nothing bad about his designs, just that they look very close to the Pharos (flattering?). I honestly like Josh, and I have no ill will toward him, and I hope he feels the same about the Pharos group buy. He appears to not realize that he did anything untowards, and we're exchanging nice emails right now.

You really should get a nice set of those custom clay chips from pokerchips.com. They would really look sweet on your friend's poker table!
