Default Taxed winnings in your country?

It's been a topic of great discussion how much you have to pay in taxes of your online poker winnings in Denmark. That's where I'm from.
Some people claim you have to pay normal income tax (60% believe it or not, lousy country!) others claim you dont have to pay at all if the pokersite is licensed in Europe. I dont know what to believe!

Anyway, this discussion got me interested! As far as I know americans don't have to pay anything. Is that correct? What about other countries? Say, England?

The more information I can get here the better!

Thanks in advance

In Norway, the government classifies poker as a lottery, hence it is illegal to host a poker tournament without a permit, which you'll never get. The loophole however, is that you don't pay taxes for any lottery winning under 10,000NOK. So as long as any hand or tournament win is under that amount, they can't really claim anything since they have made that classification.

No idea how it is in Denmark though

Americans have to pay tax on their winnings. Here in the UK we don't. We pay enough tax as it is.

Both of these assumptions are corect. (just change Europe by European Union)
