AKo facing a rather large raise preflop
ok here's the situation:
blinds are 100/200... UTG has 9k and hero has 16k. hero is about 10th out of 52, avg stack is 10k (very close). chip leader has 23k or so. top 12 qualify for a seat in this satellite and as i said, 51 players left. UTG is donkey and raises to 15BB UTG. He has done this several times before (been a donkey) and has raised between 7 and 15 BB utg. His hand range is a medium pair most likely, but really we have no clue because he is a donkey. We have AKo in LP and arefaced with this ridiculous raise. What is the move? Arguments: folding - most likely behind to a pair not too much folding equity. pushing - 99% sure he doesn't have AA or KK, if we win this coinflip we can coast into a seat and if we lose we are still in decent contention. your move??? |

Re: AKo facing a rather large raise preflop
why not call then if you don't think you have much folding equity against his range. you will likely stack if you flop a pair while he is holding Ax, and maybe even Kx. you aren't even investing large amount of your stack to do it which is rare in mtt.
