Default Battle of the blinds- keep firing here?

I am in BB with $99, villain in SB easily covers me. He is 22/6/3 but this is only over 50 hands or so, but he seems decent.

All fold to SB who completes, and I check with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

** Flop ** [ 4s, Qs, 2c ]

Villain leads for $2, I raise to $6. He thinks and calls.

** Turn ** [ Js ]
Villain checks and I bet $8. He calls again.

** River ** [ 6s ]
Villain checks, I bet $16.

I give up on the turn, you have 3rd pair WK and a flush has just completed, hes called your CR on the flop, odds are your beat.

I think you're playing your less-than-mediocre holding way too aggressively. Your opponent is pretty selective, and called your flop & turn bets. I have (2) questions for you:

- What makes you think you're ahead?

- What makes you think you can get your opponent to fold? If you believe this to be the case, question 1 doesn't matter.

Although I think you were over-zealous here, I like the follow-through you showed.

Question 1. I'm not ahead.... so I guess that question doesn't matter.

Question 2. Opponent is reasonably tight in general, and I have been tighter than him in the brief times we have played together. He may feel that I have him beaten and give up any non-flush on the river as he probably sees me as a nut-peddler. I think given the size of my bet he needs to fold somewhere between 35% and 40% of the time for my last bet to be +EV.

PS. I normally don't just keep firing like this. In fact, bluffing too little is probably one of my biggest leaks as I'm too tight/predictable.
