Default The old me and the new me (stats post)

Before I venture off the world of short-handed poker, I thought I would leave a little marker showing where I've been. Here are my stats for the first 6000 hands at $1/2 (Paradise):

And here are the stats for the last 4000 hands:

16/8 poker is okay. But for those of you who are doing that, you should really try out 20/12 poker. All those extra hands you play and extra preflop raises you make cause the game to be much more exciting. It's probably more profitable, but I've got sample size issues, so I can't say for sure. how can goign to showdown 37% and winning 43% be more profitable? maybe you blocked the bb/100 for a reason....

in all seriousness it looks like you're hanging on to your hands too long. save some BB on the turn and river and now look at how much MORE $ you have.

both are pretty small sample sizes, but as someone already said, you may be sticking around with losing hands too often.

I'll certainly keep an eye on it. I'm not too sure how big a fair sample would need to be for such a statistic. I do feel like I take lots of free showdowns after raising to isolate a loose passive limper, but I haven't looked into it in any detail. River play is probably still the weakest area for me. I'm very confident about my preflop/flop play. On the turn, I think I tend to follow through a little too often (which leads to free showdowns on the river and a low W$SD rate... maybe?)

I often play the Paradise midday rock gardens. There are a number of 12/5 type players who I go after pretty hard if I'm fortunate enough to find them.

Also... I spent some time experimenting with the added aggression during those (short!) 4000 hands. I doubt those numbers have had a chance to normalize yet.
