Default Getting to Atlantic City

I am going to Atlantic City in approx 2 weeks

Looking around, best bet is to fly into phily and drive....

Is this the best/fastest way?

It seems any flight directly into Atl City has a layover somewhere, so Philly and driving seems the fastest

Dont plan on leaving casino so wondering if renting the car
was best option?

Do casino's run a shuttle that far?

Taxi would be expensive...

My thought is rent a car and drive to Atl City and drop off car that same day.....Doing same for return trip

Is this best route?

Thanks

Renting a car is a good option...you should be able to do it cheap. I doubt you can return it same day in AC though but I mean..its prob like 20 a day and will be convenient to have (though its easy to get around w/o a car also).

There is a train that runs from Philadelphia International to 30th Street Station (via Septa). From there, you can transfer to a NJ Transit Train to AC. Go to www.septa.com and www.njtransit.com for schedules. The rental car is fastest route though...about an hour to AC from the airport.

Where are you coming from? Casinos don't run a shuttle as far as I know from Philly to AC. You really won't need the car once you're in AC so I think dropping it off same day is good idea. Philly is about a 50 minute drive from AC.AC has an airport but I don't know what airlines fly there. You may want to check it out.

depending on how long you plan to stay in AC it might be better to just keep the car. rental cars are much more expensive when you do not return them to their origin. check into the price difference at least.

The easiest way to get from Philly to AC without a car would have to be by train. To go from the Airport to AC, you first take a SEPTA R1 train from the Airport to 30th Street station. This part of the trip takes about 15-20 minutes, costs $5 and runs basically all day.

Next take NJ transit from 30th Street to AC. This trip is about 1.5 hours, costs $7.25 and basically runs about 12 times a day.

Total Trip is about 2 hours but you can't beat $13 each way. The trip from the airport to AC by car is 60-70 minutes so you aren't losing much time in comparision to the cost savings. Once you're in AC you can easily get a taxi from the station to your casino for not much $$$. The train cost is probably less than the cost of gas and tolls.

See http://www.njtransit.com and http://www.septa.com for train schedules, etc. NJ Transit trains are generally very clean. SEPTA is not as nice. Both are safe.

You're going to AC to gamble, so you might as well spend the extra few dollars and rent a car. It will be by far the easiest route. Philly International is convenientaly close to the Walt Whitman bridge which you will be going over. That turns into Rt. 42 which turns into the AC Expressway. No toll going over the bridge to NJ ($3 coming back to PA), you'll pay $2 for the AC Expressway both ways. Taking a car, depending on how fast you drive, you can get from Philly Int to AC in 45 min to an hour...unless of course there is congestion on 42 which happens from time to time.

$130 total for rental? How long are you going to be there? I would think you could get a compact for a week
