I have a graphic arts business and for years I spent a small fortune on Yellow Pages advertising. I dropped it last year and don’t miss it at all. As someone else pointed out you get a free line listing with your business phone.

Two things to keep in mind:

One: Ads are placed by a priority system. Size is first, then multi color, then how long you have been listed, then alphabetical. So if you get a dollar bill size ad you will be the last listing with that ad size.

Two: If you are not incorporated don’t take an ad If you take one and your business dries up the phone company will never stop hounding you. A friend of mine did this with a start up and he’s still paying off the phone company 6 years later. They will not deal or settle – they are relentless.

I think your target market for a Salon is not represented well in OOT. Many people use phone books.
