Default AA on the button

Villain's first hand, no reads. I'm asking for some help overall not just the river. Here she is:

NL50 6max
Total number of players : 6
Seat 2: SB ( $10.05 )
Seat 3: BB ( $59 )
Seat 4: UTG ( $46.90 )
Seat 6: CO ( $52.60 )
Seat 1: Hero ( $58.25 )
Seat 5: Villain ( $50 )
SB posts small blind [$0.25].
BB posts big blind [$0.50].
Villain posts big blind [$0.50].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ]
UTG calls [$0.50].
Villain checks.
CO folds.
Button raises [$2.50].
SB folds.
BB folds.
UTG folds.
Villain calls [$2].
** Dealing Flop ** [ 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ] pot ~6
Villain checks.
Hero checks.
** Dealing Turn ** [ 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ] pot ~6
Villain checks.
Hero bets [$3.50].
Villain calls [$3.50].
** Dealing River ** [ 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ] pot ~13
Villain bets [$5].
Hero folds.
Villain does not show cards.
Villain wins $17.60

preflop: Don't think I need to raise more even with limpers since I have position.

Ok, on the flop I don't see the problem with a free card. It's doubtful this person would call $2 more heads up OOP with something random, so excluding a few raggedy straight draws I figure my opponent is way behind. Maybe it has JT, but T8 is doubtful. Is this where I hung myself?

Turn make a flush draw and a possible straight so I bet it but still am not too afraid so I just bet $3.5, too small?

River, villain leads. What leads here that I beat? A bluff probably doesn't wait until the river and a 7 or a 5 probably checks. Obviously I'm afraid of the flush but maybe a slowplayed 9.

I bet the flop since if you want to bet the flop w/ AK you have to bet here.

I bet a bit more on the turn.

As played, call the river and expect to see a weirdly play KK-TT a sufficiently amount of the time.

Preflop is fine.. 4xBB + BB for every limper is a good guideline and you hit it on the mark.

Bet the flop. Be the guy at the table who applies the smart pressure in most of the hands he is in. Don't let him catch up for free if he is behind. You let people catch up when you flop a full house, not when you have one pair. That's just asking for it. You raised preflop; you might have a big PP, you may have Ax, let him pay to find out. If he folds, fine; you raised preflop with a good hand and got as much out of him as you could.

As played, call the river bet. He's putting you on missed overs and you will run into lotsa weird hands here that you beat.
