Comps
Can you guy's give me some examples of comps you got while playing blackjack. Do you ask the dealer or the floorman for the comp?
Do you ask before you start playing or afterwards about what comps they have etc. I'll be staying at the MGM this weekend and would like to try to benefit from comps as much as possible.

most comp systems at the big corporate casinos are all computerized now. unless you bet at least an average of $100 per hand, don't expect much in terms of discretionary favors from the pit personnel or a host.
just make sure you sign up for their players club before you sit down for the first time, so your action will be in the system. the usual blackjack comp rate is about 20% of your average bet per hour. so for example, a green chip flat bettor would probably earn about $5/hr towards food, hotel charges, merchandise and such.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually playing BJ is one of the easiest games at which to estimate your comps. If you are a green chip bettor you can pretty much expect to earn $25 per hour in comps on the strip. IF you bet a bit more when the pit boss is looking and less when he is not it is pretty easy to double of triple your comp earnings. The correct formula is your average bet times the number of occurances per hour times the expected house edge for an average player times anywhere from 35 to 40%. Rather than computing this out for BJ all you need to know is your average comp earn per hour when playing BJ will be about equal to your average wager. Jimbo
