I call these types of all-ins often, as I think the player wouldn’t play a set this way, but would play a draw in this manner. I assume he went all-in on the turn as he felt the K might be a scare card for me. Am I going to get into trouble in the higher limits if I call these types of bets? (Not an auto call, I analyze the situation before I make these types of calls.) |

I assume he went all-in on the turn as he felt the K might be a scare card for me. [/ QUOTE ] That's what it looks like, if it was an over pair or flush draw I think you'd be reraised/check raised on the flop more often. Any insight on to why you didn't want to raise 99 on the button here? At the 11s I wouldn't try it because it just acts as a pot sweetener but at the 55s with position and some limpers wouldn't a raise be worth it?? |

Re: How often do you call these strange all-ins.
I dont like to risk to much of my stack PREFLOP with mid pairs at this stage of the blinds. This is my standard preflop play with 22-JJ, I do however change it up every once in a while depending on comfortable reads with players already in the pot.
