Re: Table Selection how do you do that?
This is a good point, I don't know how many times I've sat down at a huge avg pot table, and when I get everyone in PT, they are all in the green and I have to leave.

Re: Table Selection how do you do that?
I do what warlock does, I'll sit in for 2 cycles and if I feel that they are reasonably tight, I'll leave.
also, if the avg pot is high but everybody has buyin stacks, I usually leave. It usually means a big all in the hand before and both the winner and loser left and all thats there are new arrivals looking for action. |

Re: Party NL 6max 50$ isnt whiffle ball is it?
My pokertracker stats show something like 48% of $25NL players seeing the flop as opposed to 46% at 50NL. Even at 100NL its something like 44%. Maybe you just hit a bad stretch of luck, or some tough tables.

Re: Table Selection how do you do that?
Party counts uncalled bets as part of the pot size.
So if there's $20 in the pot on the turn and someone bets $20, Party counts it as a $40 pot. Meanwhile at another table there's a $20 pot on the turn, someone bets $10 and gets called, and they check down the river. That's also a $40 pot. But the two tables are playing completely different. |

Re: What whiffle ball is
I have never heard whiffle ball used as a poker term (and I have never seen Rounders so maybe that's why), but I suppose it could describe a very loose game. Whiffle ball is a backyard game played like baseball. There is no skill requirement to play, and most people take a swing at every pitch.
By the way, I googled for whiffle ball and got a ton of hits. |

Re: What about other sites guys?
I've played around these limits at Paradise and Prima. Paradise 25NL and 50NL I thought was clearly tougher than the same limits at Party. Prima is just as soft as Party at the 1/2 and 2/4 levels, I haven't played lower there but I'm sure it's similar. So Prima's a pretty good alternative to Party.

[ QUOTE ]
I do the highest average pot thing but you have to do it with some consideration. [/ QUOTE ] If the waiting lists are long, here may also be some merit to selecting one maybe 20% down the list. The people ahead of you in line for the top table are likely better players than the ones leaving it. (Since, well. They're _you_ and your cohorts trying to join the laggy fish.) |
