do you mean turn raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

oh.. whoops

i guess i just like a call then

3-betting the flop would have made the turn play quite differently... but given where we are in the hand with the actual flop play, I have a question about Daryn's turn call...

Why do you like a call v.s. this villain rather than raising for a free showdown?

I would raise. If he has a PP, it's much more likely it's a smaller one. Ace high will pay you off to the river. I think it's unlikely he has an 8 or 3, but the chance that he does is outweighed by the value you miss from overcards and smaller PPs.

If, after raising the turn, you have an opportuniy for a free showdown, do you want to take it?

Raise.

I don't think you're up against JJ or QQ. If the kid has A3, c'est la vie...and it might be a good investment as you will get action from him later.

if i'm raising the turn it's not for a free showdown. thinking about it now i agree with andyfox in that if he has an 8 so be it (why would he bet out with it?) and if he has an ace he's probably calling down, also you don't give a free shot to overcards.

although, if he has K high like a KQ though you would want to just call if you thought that he would bet the river on a bluff if he misses. he might even be in much worse shape. i'm sticking with a call if he will fire away on the river regardless.

so this hand is 120/240? or it's a 30/60 game and now you're playing a kill pot?

[/ QUOTE ]

I know the game...it's 30/60 and they're playing a kill pot.

I'd just call, raising most rivers and folding to a 3-bet or calling depending on how I felt about him when watching his 3-bet
