QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
Button is loose/passive to say the least. pretty much any 2 cards will do. can't really figure him out sadly as he'll bluff sometimes when checked to, haven't seen a preflop raise yet, and calls down with any draw or pairing.
Hero BB Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6-handed) Preflop folded to Button, Button open limps, Hero raises, BB folds, Button calls. Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
Easy bet, he usually has a hand worse than a pair of aces. Should also be an easy fold to a check raise assuming he only bluff bets, not bluff check raises.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah i figured as much. i think that's a leak i'm noticing right now is paying off on these river raises. he check/raised me. i paid the guy off villain shows AJo i got berated by the table for betting the turn and river saying "i should have slowed down when the Ace fell and blah blah" so i wasn't sure if i should have even betted this river. |

Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
Im surely betting here, but when a loose PASSIVE check raises me I start wondering about the call to the raise. He is loose, its way to easy for him to have a lower pair in which case your loosing a bet, also tell the table to shut the hell up.

Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
yea this is one of those situations where you have a read, so you can fold this river check raise. I find it hard to do, but it is correct.
I would have also bet the river, he calls with a smaller pair here like almost every time, so you will make up for your over call on the river by continuing to value bet. |

Easy bet, especially given your read.

Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
If button is very loose, it seems that there are a lot of possible draws that he may have picked up on the flop. A pair or straight or gut-shot draw seem to be the most likely.
His checking the turn suggests that he doesnt have an A and the pairs and straight draws remain possibilities. The 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] does complete a number of possible draws on the river, including the backdoor flush, however I would still be inclined to bet for value when button checks. If button check-raised on the river, I would fold as I would consider that I was most likely beaten. However, if I considered button to be tricky enough to be capable of attemting a river check-raise bluff, then I would just have checked behind on the river. However I would not expect many players to be that tricky at micro-stakes. |

Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
From your read this is a super easy river bet
"villain calls down with any draw or pairing" |

Re: QQ on a scary board against loose/passive
Given your read, I bet the river; he could have anything.
