Party just sent me info on my trip and somthing dosn\'t smell right
I just recieved all my info on the Australia trip i won last week. The trip consists of two tournament entries, hotel acommadation and 2500 US for airfair and spending
The problem i have is with the 2500 US. Party just sent me an e-mail stateing the following [ QUOTE ] you will be given USD $2,500 in cash once you have completed the registration process, assigned your table and seat number and signed the PartyPoker.com Sponsored Player Release. [/ QUOTE ] So i have to book and pay for my flight go to australia and then get my money ?? I come from a pretty conservative family so forgive me if i am very scared to book a ten day trip with my own money to go half way across the world so a internet gambling site can pay me back. does anyone know if this is the way these trips work?? |

You're afraid of a billion dollar company paying you 2 grand?
I'd be pretty afraid if it was a Prima network site - but not party or stars or UB. |

Did it say in the rules you have to show up? At stars when you when something like this they put the $$$ in your account after the game is over.

This is the way Intertops did it when they were giving out Vienna trips this summer. The winners had to make all their own travel and lodging arrangements, and when we finally got to the casino they handed us some cash.

i am not a rich man
lucky somtimes but the risk of loosing 1500 for flight and bieng stuck in australia for 10 days is still somthing i'd rather not have to worry about. Even if i am pretty confident in Party. It just dosn't seem like a good buisness practice to me. |

What's to stop you from just taking a free trip to Australia and never showing up? If they're going to pay for your travel, they want to make sure you actually attend the event. |

thats kinda funny
you enter these things going WOW a trip to australia and then you win them and for like two days your dancing and then you think wait a minute this thing is worth 13000 dollars and i could really use 13000 i would probably sell it for 10000 if i could but, then again, i would have sold my 600 dollar ticket into the tournament that got me to australia. Its just funny that odds are i will come away with nothing but memeories and stories. |

All of that came out of the prize pool of the satellite he won. Party received its rake on the satellite (which if I recall correctly was higher than normal for a tournament of that buyin), and in effect the trip to Australia and the buyin to the other tournament are paid for by the other players who entered the satellite at Party. |
