I have the perfect solution. Stake him in a 2/4 game.

[/ QUOTE ]

How is that the perfect solution? This guy already has an adequate BR for 2/4. 1000xBB is fine for some1 would beat the game for at least 1.5 BB/100.

I have a PN account, 2 EP, and 2 PP and have never had any issues, this guy is concerned about having 1 EP and 1 PP.

[/ QUOTE ]

how about you sign up 17 more EP and 12 more PP accounts and stake him from the bonuses you make from those?

douchebag

As someone who is also fairly risk averse, I can tell you that nothing you say will convince your friend to move up in limits. He will only do it when he is ready.

Jesus, you said himself he is risk averse. If you stake him, he won't be playing with his own money and will agree on playing and getting comfortable in the new limit. You will earn money since he's such a great player.

Or were you looking for the "threaten his mom by gunpoint" kind of answer?

Edit: When will I learn not to give sound advice to people with 5 posts talking about having multiple accounts?

If he doesn't feel comfortable playing at higher limits, he's going to lose.

Are you serious? Jesus. Tell your friend to SEW IT UP and get out of the kiddie pool. It's time to make some moves!

I disagree with this. You can play like crap and still beat 2/4.

Your friend sounds a lot like me. I didn't move up to 1/2 until my BR hit 3500. I'm still playing 1/2 with a 13k BR for a few reasons. For me, moving up has a lot to do with emotionally preparing yourself for the higher stakes, which is something I'm not ready for and this probably applies to your friend as well. Even with a large bankroll, something like a 200BB downswing or losing 7 buyins playing $25 PLO, like I did today, STILL hurts. Get him to log 10k-20k hands at 1/2 to build some confidence.
