Re: Pai Gow Poker
It also helps if you bank where the casino has a bonus that requires the plays to set their hand a certain way to get paid for the bonus, i.e., a full house must be the 5 card hand leaving nothing for the 2 card hand. Because players who play the bonus must misset your hands, your edge is quite good. Harrah's in LV has this rule. I banked there with a full table everyone but me playing the bonus.
Due to players missetting their hands to get paid on the bonus, I was saved having to pay out $125 in bets. Basically, you have a pretty good edge, however, I am unsure if it makes it up for the remained of the orbit where you are not banking. |

Re: Pai Gow Poker
there's a game here in seattle that has no commission on the straight bet if you place atleast a $5 fortune bet. I believe it can be beaten if you are betting 100-200 on the straight bet and 5 on the fortune bet. i don't have the roll for it tho.

Re: Pai Gow Poker
I think a fellow by the name of Mason wrote quite a bit about the subject in Gambling Theory and Other Topics. It definitely wasn't in Fundamentals of Craps.
Anyway, I found the treatment of the subject to be a worthwhile and interesting read and got the feeling that there are better uses of your time and energy (i.e., the game CAN be beaten, but for a teeny win rate coupled with an undesirably high amount of variance). Bon chance. "Your excuses are your own" -- Richard Roma |
