Default Do I have to pay off here?

It cost me two big bets after I "knew" the villain had trips. I find myself in a lot of these situations and am not sure if i must pay off or lay it down. Only "read" was the betting pattern.

I'd play it the same, unless hes ultra weak-tight, and only bets with a big hand.

I would probably fold this on the turn if I was in the mood to suck. Nice hand.

Bet the flop, dude! You need to get money in the pot, and there's absolutely no reason to expect any one else to bet in this situation.

And yes, you have to call down. CO will have AJ or KJ or a clubs often enough here that it will be profitable. Plus your implied odds of hitting your 1/22 shot (there's a great chance the river gets capped) help you out also.
