Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
I played last night at Greektown in Detroit. It was a crazy loose no fold'em hold'em $5-$10 limit game full of maniacal calling stations and drunken screwballs.
I sat down at 1:00AM and dragged my first pot at 4:08AM. I know you can outdo this, so what is your longest streak at the beginning of a session? |

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
I once was moved to a new table after a good winning session, and sat at the new table for a good hour and a half before even PLAYING a pot much less dragging one. I got dealt an endless string of unplayable hole cards, and the ones that were marginal limps I was raised off of. My blinds were raised, and if I did get to see a flop in the BB, I'd whiff it completely. I don't think I saw a turn card for 2 hours. Then I had to leave the casino. Everyone at my table stared at me said stuff like, "why did you even come here if you weren't going to play poker? The TV is over there!" They didn't see the $100 white-chip of profit I put on top of my rack when I departed.
It happens; all part of variance. |

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
My longest stretch is also 3 hours without winning a pot. This was at Greektown as well. I bought in for $200 and didn't win a pot until I was down to my last $30. I ended that session up $100 and now I always buy in for $300, so I don't end up shortstacked so often. (5-10 HE)

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
I once went 2 hours and forty-five minutes without voluntarily entering a pot. I only played the blinds and didn't see a river. I have played three hours without dragging a pot.

I played at Greektown last night also, from 6pm till 9:30 never dragged a pot and then moved to a differnet table with a buddy and won 3 hands in one orbit. Left about 12 though.

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
The unofficial limit for not winning a pot
is 3 hours. I have approached this on many days, but never seem to go over 3 hours w/o a win. On a close but no cigar - 4 hours 20 minutes and only dragging two split pots, one of which the board was played. |

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
The first year Canterbury Card Club was open, 2000, I lost $200 in three hours playing $3/6 stud without dragging a pot. I drove around for a while, hit an ATM, went back and lost another $100 in two hours playing $2/4 stud, again without winning a pot. On one of my last hands, I had rolled-up Kings in a seventeen-way pot and lost to Jacks full.

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
In the early nineties I entered a 10/20 holdem game and seven hours later still hadn't won a single pot. Was stuck less than a grand at that point (super loose passive game where I missed every flop).
Of course I played nittier back then. Same game, same cards, same everything and today I'd lose much more ~ Rick |

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
2 hours 45 minutes in a 40-80 at Commerce. Went through 3.5 racks (each rack is $1k) in that time as the game was very loose and aggressive. Eventually went down 6 racks before fighting back and booking a mere $400 loss before going to bed after what ended up being a 11 hour sesson.

Re: Longest you have sat in a game without dragging a single pot.
I'm not accusing you of this, but I will say that most time people say they've gone three hours without winning a hand they are lying (they've won a few) or forgetting a few small pots they took down without showdowns. Going three hours without winning a pot has definitely happened to me at B&M, but not as often as I've said it has.
