Is this standard?I really thought I was going to see AK, AQ, or two pair, when I should have betted?

When you got reraised on the turn you could be quite certain that he had a straight and you have only 10 outs to outdraw him. I don't think he would reraised you with an inside staight draw (AK or AQ) fearing that you or someone else has a made hand.

First of all I would raise pre-flop since pocket pairs loose value in multi-way pots. On the turn I would probably bet a fair amount to see where I stand (we dont like an ace on the turn since it might complete a straight) and if I would get reraised big time I would probably lay down my hand.

Raise a nominal amount PF. 4-5X the BB is fine. Flop big bet is necessary. Thats a draw infested board. Bet at least the pot. Once the ace hits the turn its shutdown time if called. Try to see the river cheap bacause one of the likey draws got there.

Never, ever check that flop. unless you feel strongly someone is going to bet so you can push all in right there.
