[ QUOTE ]
Is nobody worried about the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ?

Perhaps I am too paranoid, but forgive me, today amrks the end of my first week of online play.

[/ QUOTE ]

The Ace of clubs is so much more likely than the 7 of clubs, and will be played just as strongly. So I think you should play this hand as strongly as possible, and do everything you can think of to get your opponent's chips in the middle. If you flop a full house and lose to a straight flush, well, that's just bad luck. But to hedge your bets on the river because you fear the straight flush is wrong, IMO.

The 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] would have bet the river more, your hand is good here, I'd push and hope to get looked up by the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Default OT Hand History

This is off topic, but your assumption reminded me of a bizarre straight flush hand I was recently involved in. The villian just called my bet on the river, when I would have certainly capped the betting.

Perhaps he's getting a bonus for a royal flush that you only get if you show it down?

I would min raise the turn to 600 or 700.
If river was not a 8c, I would push.

For 8c on the river, I would check first. Someone will bet for you for sure. I would call a medium bet.
For small bet like 100, and one caller, I would push afer my check.

Hope you didn't run into the 7c.

Great response Guys yes of course he had K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] lol. Me I called because it was the most desperate "call me bet" I have ever seen, had he bet a reasonable amount I'm all-in and toast.

The poster who said I had a donkish image yes and sometimes it pays very well. I am playing around with different plays the pre-flop min raise with low to middle suited connectors when I am up against not very aggressive opponents being one of them. The move has come good on several occasions and the main reason is deception because you raised even the smarter players tend to discount the possibility of you holding a 65 for instance. Also because of the pre-flop raise it is easier to represent strength and make a play at the pot if nobody looks like they have hit anything much.

Oh yes if you hit it and turn it over your opponents TILT - big time because they have just lost to a complete donk.

Thanks

Ross
