I do know that it has blinds of $5-10 and a minimum buy in of $100, but you really need $1-2K to be able to play.

Correction. MCC's NL game also has a $2-5-5 blind structure like Greektown has.

Someone suggested going to Mt. Pleasant. It's a tribal casino, and the only casino in Michigan where you can get in at age 18.

It's also in the same city as Central Michigan U. I've heard that there are some dumbass kids at the HE games, but I've never played in the cardroom myself. The casino as a whole is nice though.

I've been to Greektown once. Waited about 1/2 hour to get a table at about 1pm. The 3/6 game was extremly loose/passive, but I may have just got a good table. If you can take the smoke, it's a great game.

I haven't played at MCC, but I have played Greektown a couple of times. Greektown did recently introduce a non-smoking room, but last time I was there, the only games in that room were 10-20 and No Limit. If you wanted a 3-6 or 5-10 game, you had to play in the smoking room. The floor people there and desk attendants in particular, seemed more incompetent than rude, but the dealers were all pretty good. FYI...Greektown will also allow you to call in up to an hour before you arrive. I have found that the 5-10 games at Greektown are pretty weak-passive and easy to beat.

Nope. Your experience is very typical of the $3-6 game at Greektown and the $5-10 games at MCC & Greektown. (There is no longer a $3-6 game dealt at MCC) You start getting closer to an even mix of skilled and unskilled players on the $10-20 tables. If you have the bank roll for it and plan to play at one casino regularly (2-3 times per week) that's the level I'd recommend for non-beginners.

One note to add Greektown has a Lightning round tourney starting as soon as previous tourney ends. They don't run them on Friday and Saturday but every other day. Basically its a 10 person No Limit SnG with blinds raising every orbit.

$110 buyin $100 going to the pot T1000 in chips.

1st Place wins $600, second $300, Third $100.

Played in it last week and it was full of maniacs. In the first 4 hands we lost 3 players.

When you get down to heads up blinds go up so fast its just a matter of who gets better cards since your blinded in everyhand.

that omaha hi/lo doesnt get going to often

most players there are playing 3/6 he, there will be 6 tables going of that and 1 or 2 6/12 he and 1 10/20

and sometimes there is a stud game going 3/6 with .50 ante

ive played that omaha game on sunday several times. its usually a good game, but you have to have some patience. a few of the dealers are very unexpirienced and it slows the game a lot--counting the pot figuring out the lows

20-25 h/hr maybe, i was little out of it last time i played

lists are long fri-sat night could wait a while and they wont let you call in

i prefer to go up first thing in the morning, ususally on sun.

barely any wait time -- usually can get right in a game

won 37bb last time at 3/6 in 5 hours -- not to bad, whoever said that about the college students are right

good luck, also the games do not run all night during the week(close at 2am)

cheers
