california live poker is different. people do wacky stuff just because they want to beat some kid with big hair who raises a lot.

[ QUOTE ]
I think it is funny that mike l and JASucker try to sound like poker experts a lot, but their most common defense of their play is "you don't understand how bad my opponents are". If you constantly play against such bad opponents, why do you expect people to think your advice counts for so much?

[/ QUOTE ]

If I can just step in here and make a comment and hopefully avoid the huge streams of piss that you and TSP are trying to evoke in the ensuing pissing contest, I will.

JA and mike play against bad players. So, when commenting on hands THEY PLAY, you need to take that into account. You DO take who the opponent is into account when you play, don't you?

But when they comment on others people play (i.e. your comment "why do you expect people to think your advice counts for so much?" they don't assume the same bad-level of play. And when they comment on others' hands, their advice is very sound.

Damn, my shoes are getting wet.

Josh

Are you kidding? I'm not raising the river for fold value.

I've seen you raise with A8o in early position in a full 1-2 game. So, I guess I've seen equally strange stuff online.

I'm not saying anything about the posts I make. I thought this was an interesting hand. That's all.

I'm sure that all of the people who have played with me in a full game on this board would tend to think of my play as very boring and not at all like this hand sounds. Just a thought. Shorthanded is very different, and this hand really feels a lot more like one.

Another thought is that I didn't say that my opponent was really bad. He's actually quite dangerous at times, but you gotta get some chips in there.

You raise a good point, but even without the hair, I've still got that dumb grin on my face that Zee thinks is the source of my action.

i didn't understand why people not from california would always yell at players like mike l and ja sucker

then i went to foxwoods

i never saw a hand go 3 bets on the turn without the stone nuts against middle set, and then it was one bet on the river

i love california

8 ways for Ak but that doesn't affect your analysis with which I agree.
