I'm frequently unsure of my turn play with overpairs and TP/TK or TP/GKish hands.

What are the factors that need to be considered in deciding if you're going to bet again on the turn or check and call a river bet?

how draw heavy is the board.

how tight is caller and whether him holding draw is likely.

how likely is he to call down with dominated hand.

howlikely is he likely to bluff river.

stack sizes.

do you have a redraw?

What are some general situations where you like to check behind on the turn and call a river bet?

I have QQ.

I raise preflop.

flop comes T 8 5. I bet, he calls. turn pairs the T. I probably check behind there.

I raise preflop with AK diamonds. he calls. flop comes K Q T rainbow with 1 diamond. bets pot in to me, I call. turn comes a 5 of diamond. he checks, I check behind. this is assuming I don't think he'll fold something like KQ here to a turn bet.

I raise with AK. solid player calls. flop comes A Q 3 rainbow. I bet , he calls. he checks the turn, I check behind.

I raise with AK with A spades. flop comes A 53 with 2 spades. I bet, weak passive calling station calls. turn completes the flush draw. he checks, I check behind.

usually the check behind occurs in way ahead way behind situations against non calling stations where you don't have to protect against much or if you think they are slow playing their hand on the turn but you have redraw.

Also: How likely is he to raise the turn on a bluff, causing you to fold the best hand.
