Default Should you ever fear Quads?

Pokerstars $2/4 NL

Stacks
Hero $400
Villian $600

I'd been running over the table a bit with a rush of good cards in the past 30 minutes, and going all-in either pre-flop or on the river to create a wild loose raising impression (even though the cards were much better than could be expected.) People were asking ARE YOU DRUNK?

Anyway, I got dealt KK under the gun and raised it to $8.

I got one caller and the blinds fold.

FLOP: K93 rainbow

I made a pot sized bet on the flop and got called.

TURN: 9

I made a bet of about half the pot and got called, hoping to create an impression of being on a bluff or continuation bet.

River: 5

I went ALL IN and got called by 99. (QUAD 9's)

Is this just bad luck or was there anyway to avoid this disaster?

Not meant as a joke. If you have a King high flush, you've got to wonder if someone could have an ace high flush... with a pair on board your full house is never the nuts... should you always play it as if it is?

By quoting the limits are you advocating that one SHOULD fear quads at a higher limit?

Or are you just reinforcing the point?

I hope so...
