Re: an entirely unpleasant TT hand heads-up
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, value bet the river. Psyche. [/ QUOTE ]See, _I_ got the 'psyche' reference. Means "kidding", or "joke". As in "Don't value bet the river." If your preflop happened in later position, where it's folded more and THEN somebody raises as first in, I'd 3-bet with TT. If he's a decent player using his position and the fact that he's first to act, you certainly want to raise against hands like A8 that are just semi-stealing. In middle position, I think I'd just fold. You don't know what's gonna happen behind you, and you're too easily dominated. I hate cold-calling. (Not necessarily here, just in general. ) Otherwise, I think you played fine. I'd fold to a raise on the turn, but if they're gonna keep calling, I guess you have to bet the flop and turn. -Sam |

All good points. I think I might suffer slightly from "fear
of being weak-tight", which is an ailment these forums tend to induce. |

I think I might suffer slightly from "fear of being weak-tight", which is an ailment these forums tend to induce. [/ QUOTE ] It's an unfortunate fact that when posters disagree with a fold they often unconsciously or deliberately stigmatize the player as "weak-tight" instead of logically criticizing the individual play. This adds nothing to the debate and discourages people from speaking their minds. |
