Default top pair no kicker

Here's one I never quite know how to play. If I'm up against top pair weak kicker, they'll nearly always just call down.
How do you play it?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, MP3 calls, SB folds.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, MP3 calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, MP3 folds.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

What if you have the button with middle pair (queens), weak
kicker, and it's checked to you on the flop. Same line?

How 'bout middle pair, good kicker, three to the flop,
unraised before the flop, and you're first to act?

These are the hands that happen over and over that I just
dread...
