Poker table felt and pad and rail

Poker Cats poker felt and pads.
Anybody have any experience with this stuff? Is it worth it? What about the rail combos they sell?
Has anybody bought this?

If not, where did you buy your felt and pad when you made your table?

The price is very cheap.

Playtables, casinocom.com, and Kardwell all charge about $20 a yard for felt. And that is cheap! It's top notch materials though.

As for Poker Cats, it's very cheap. I have to wonder about the quality. I don't know though.

You can go vinyl and foam on the bumpers, that's cheap. $3 a yard for leather vinyl. I wouldn't skimp on the fabric though.

As a table builder myself, I would reccomend not skimping on the vinyl. If you get the stuff that's $3yd it may save you some money, but it's a royal pain to put on a rail. The cheap stuff has a fuzzy backing on it that sticks to the foam you already have on the rail. Because it won't slide, you get wrinkles and uneven spots alot easier. I would always upgrade to the marine grade vinyl, it will last alot longer, clean up easier, and be easier to put on. That's just my $0.02

Ill second this... I got some nice marine grade vinyl... it was almost 10 dollars a yard I think, but it stretched great, is very sturdy, and looks great, no problems with it at all.

Riverboat Willie (and others) -
Looking at your rails, they have a nice "rounded" look to them. How did you achieve this? Mine has sharp corners. I realize if I round off the outside edge before I put the padding on, that will help. Is that all there is to it? On yours, and others I've seen, it even looks like the top surface has a curve to it. How do you get that shape?

I personally do my rails a little differently then others do. I lay one layer of 1" foam along the whole top of the rail. I then wrap another piece of 1" foam from inside to outside. That wraped foam makes the nice round shape. My rails tend to be alot cushier then other ones, some people like that, some like the harder casino feel, it's pretty much a matter of preference. Hope this info helps.

Nice table. I've always wondered how the insert tables work. How do you cut and attach the insert (the felt-covered part) so that it stays above the main part of the table?

I don't know..that looks a little shiny. I got pool table felt at watson's...buddy got employee discount though. Bought headliner for padding at hancock fabrics and i used the rail from casinosupply rather than make one. Mine came out really well ( thanks to all the guys on this forum who (whom?) were so helpful, not my own personal ingenuity.)
