Default QJo early in a tournament

This type of hand confuses me early in a tournament. Stars $50 MTT, a couple of orbits in (blinds still 10/20), I haven't voluntarily put money in any pot yet.

Dealt Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], two off the button. Much to my dismay, everyone folds to me. Situations like this confuse me, because folding seems too tight, but I hate committing even a small portion of my stack early with a junky hand like this. I raised to 80, got reraised by the BB to 300, and folded. Just wondering about others' opinions...what do you do with hands like QJo early in multi-table tournaments?

In that position to open you can mix it up alittle with QJ to change gears. say a 40% Raise/50%fold/10%call , or a combination that you feel comfortable with.

I dont think there was anything wrong with your play.

I raise here to 60 every time if folded to me. I get reraised like that and I fold every time. folding here I think is way too weak/tight and I hate open calling when folded to me in LP. That is just asking to get beat by a junk hand in the BB. At least ur PF raise allows you to represent a wide range of hands on the flop if you can get it heads up.
