no limit games so i play no-limit
What's up NL forum.
My regular limit games were full this last weekend so I played a little $200NL($1/$2 blinds). This is my first hand for discussion. I am particulary interested in the turn decision and what consists of a "standard" NL decision. BB-Gambler, loose pf and postflop ~$90 from his most recent buyin. UTG-Sort of reasonable, but i have seen him go all-in on a draw before.~$140 UTG+1-Classic weak/tight; ~$220 UTG+2-Horrible; ~$100 on this buyin MP2-Big time gambler: usually calls anything with top pair/no kicker. ~$250 on second buy-in. CO-decent player. ~$300 Button-tight. ~$280 It was not unusual for there to be 8 or 9 to the flop with no raises. Great game. In this hand I am in the SB with 23o. I am down a little, I have maybe $90 from my $100 buyin. I complete, BB checks, 8 to the flop. Flop- J22rainbow I check, BB bets $6 all call, I call. Turn- 9 completing the rainbow. I check, BB bets $10, all call, I push. I figured the pot is big enough for me to protect my hand from what couple of draws may be out there. Standard? Comments on all streets appreciated. Final pot: $134 before i pushed my remaining stack. |

i throw this hand away in the SB
i would lead the flop was this live? your stack is a little short even for online, but in live play the preflop raises are generally bigger, so you really need your stack to be deeper to maintain profitability. i would rebuy for the max... |

[/ QUOTE ] yes, live. i was getting what, 15-1 preflop and i am fit and fold on the flop with rags like that. good enough odds for me. i only bought in for $100, kind of weak, but NL is NOT my game so i wanted to minimize my potential losses(i know, i know it also limits my potential winnings, meh). that flop checks through never and there were some hapless bluffers at the table so i thought i would slowroll a little. i normally hate slowplay, but with these morons and that board i thought i would play the flop slow. |

I would much rather announce that I have the 2 on the flop with a c/r and be content taking down the pot there.
23o stinks, but I would make the call pf too with that many to the flop. |

Re: no limit games so i play no-limit
you have 45 BBs in a live 1/2 game with flopped trips from the SB
get it in on the flop w/a big check-raise, youve got the perfect position to do it, and all Js are coming along for the ride also, small stakes |

Re: no limit games so i play no-limit
all i know is he was getting MAYBE 2-1 when he CALLED all-in on the turn. that is not profitable IMO but i would like to be convinced. if you push all-in at least you have fold equity to go with your draw. calling is just bad i think.
