Default Specifics from HPFAP--you\'re right

From Page 173 HPFAP (not ToP), Playing in Loose Games--It's Important to Be Suited:

". . . one of the reasons to raise with these flush cards is because if you flop the draw, by making the pot bigger, people now play hands that can't win against your hand if you hit it."

As another poster commented below, it goes on to say "When the other players are terrible, there is no reason to make this raise . . . because they will stay in anyway."

So two problems with my LRR preflop:
1) The other players were terrible, and
2) the pot was already raised, and three-betting (with the possibility of a cap behind) was pretty much unnecessary to give anyone odds--we were already staring at a 12 sb pot on the flop.

Bloating the pot also ties you to it with weak hands as well. It's not like you're flopping an OESD or 4-flush or folding here. Instead we're putting bets preflop as a (possible?) dog and giving ourself odds on later streets. But I don't think it's terrible or anything, I just wouldn't do it.

Am I the only one that doesn't fold this river? Massive pot and we can close the action with some (albeit not great) showdown value.

ok...where to start,
i personally dont like the 3 bet preflop...ive read in it some books, and ive seen it played well but you cant get tied to a marginal hand...
also, calling on the flop is the worst decsion...
make the drawers pay, and feel out your hand better. RAISE
or fold, i personally like fold, heres why, the bb is openly betting into a huge field of players with a huge pot, whatever he has, your smoked! KK,JJ, most likely a 5, your drawing to 2 outs period...
I think my most likely line is raise, call 3 bet peel fold to his later aggression...
anyone think my logic sucks here?
