Default PartyPoker discriminating players.

Hello all,

When I first heard about the $600+40 tournament at PartyPoker Million III cruise, I thought it would be a very good tournament. Now, I am thinking it is totally something else.

The thing that makes the tournament worthless for me is the following statement at tournament information:

--< snip >--

Ways to Earn Extra Starting Chips

Players can also earn Extra Starting Chips (ESCs) by playing more than 3000 raked hands between 0:00 hrs ET March 12th and 23:59 hrs ET April 16th. ESCs can be earned in the following ways:

--< snip >--

After this it shows that with 3000 raked hands you get 300 extra chips, and for 10000 raked hands or more you get 1000 extra chips.

Of course it's Partypoker's choice, what kind of tournaments they arrange. However, I find this kind of discriminating behavior quite unfair.

Personally for me, it makes the tournament -EV, since I don't get equal chips for my money. Since there is no way to make the same money at Party as at better places, I have to lose money to get the same chance as other players.

What is the Zoo's opinion on this issue?

You're gonna have to explain this one further.

Personally, I love the extra starting chips. It turns the tourney into less of a crapshoot.

The extra chips are nice, but I think everybody should have an equal amount of chips there.

My game is Pot limit Omaha, and I play it with 3/6, 5/10 and 15/25 blinds. There is no way I can reach a similar hourly rate at Partypoker games than what I do at these games. Therefore I would be losing money when playing for the tournament chips.

I agree that if someone is going to pay 600-40 to enter a tournament, the starting chips should be equal for all. These extra starting chip bonuses are only good for free roll MTT's.

If I was bothered by the extra starting chips, I would not enter the tournament. Think it's already been mentioned and seems like a pretty easy concept to me.

From your message it looks like you play at Party anyway, so won't you be earning the extra chips yourself?

I am not playing ring games at Party, since it's not possible to get the same hourly rate as in other games I play.

If you are losing money playing at party, then you have more important things to think about than how unfair a 600+40 tournament is. What better sites are there to play??

Read what he said. I think he has a very valid point.

This was already discussed in the MTT forum. I got an extra 1000 chips even though I don't plan on playing. I don't think you closing your party account is going to affect them very much as it doesn't sound like you play there.

It isn't like Party is just randomly giving people it. They have it posted everywhere that you are able to get extra starting chips.
