Default How badly did I misplay this hand?

I had a situation similar to this earlier and I pretty much took the same line, except I bet less on the flop, but I folded to a reraise by the big stack. I can't help but feel I played both very wrong.

I would have made a more significant raise preflop
I don't really like when 1st person in minraises,
so i probably would have put him to the test
You did the right thing on the flop though in my oppinion
sometimes you just have to lay it down

I don't think you played it too badly. I think you're pre-flop raise was the correct amount - a pot-size raise. Betting more than that is a scared response to a hand that you've had a tough time playing with in the past.

Obviously, you don't like the A on the flop but when your opponent checks you've got to make some kind of continuation bet to see where you are. I think you bet too much. I'd make a 1/2 pot size bet and when he raised I'd fold.

What kind of read/situation would deem it correct to push on the reraise from my opponent?

I think that in an online MTT you can safely fold to the re-raise every time in this situation. I have to believe he has some type of an Ace and even if it's only a decent kicker he'll call a push. Again, this is my experience from online MTTs and doesn't necessarily carry over to live tournies.
