only 8 teams , so most teams are pretty deep. I am currently in second place, and wouldn't mind making a move to upgrade, but I don't really know if this move helps me.

One other problem I have is, should I play Guillen at short rather than Rollins? I get steals with Rollins, but thats about it. Bah.

i don't know that it does.

Lopez 49R 89H 14HR 48RBI 53K 6SB .305BA
Soriano 60R 93H 21HR 56RBI 69K 10SB .275BA

soriano's got roughly 50 more AB, so it's not that much of an upgrade, really. i wouldn't be shocked if they're almost identical when converted to a ratio.

no. rollins helps you (or doesn't hurt you) in every category except BA.

when you get loretta back, i'd move lopez to SS

if you want to buy low on a SS, Jack Wilson hit a Grand Slam tonight and looked pretty good from where i was sitting. might be turning a corner... (or it might be a fluke)

Start Lopez over Rollins?????

hmmmm....

On second thought, I may not make that trade. I think Ortiz's worth is just too great.

where are you gonna play burnitz and rogers?

glaus plays in Ortiz's spot, which is a downgrade
soriano in lopez's spot, which is at best a small upgrade
prior's currently on your bench anyway and you'd play peavy over rogers i'd think.
hermanson's only a bit better than looper, if at all.

i don't see how this makes you better. deeper, perhaps, but not better

i take the original trade, and reject the new one.

also, in an 8-team league, you should be able to dump finley, move loretta to the DL and find a much more useful bench player (like another SP).

as for playing guillen over rollins, you've gotta be kidding me. what guillen gives to your batting average, he will take away with interest in the other categories.

I reject both trades, with the original trade being closer. Its not that bad of a deal, but I think you could get a lot more for Ortiz if you shopped him around.

FWIW, in a 10 team league with those categories and a couple more I gave Chavez and BJ Ryan for Ortiz early in the year. I have been very happy with my end of the deal, Ortiz is a beast.
