Default Road Trip: Looking for Casinos with Poker or Poker Rooms enroute...

I am taking a five week road trip. I would like to stop and play poker along the way and I am looking for casinos, and or poker rooms spreading cash games en route...

I am leaving New York City and going west through Jersey, PA, Ohio (stopping in Oberlin), Indiana (stopping in South Bend), and Illinois (chicago). From there I am heading to Iowa, Nebraska, upthrough the Dakotas to Montana, then to Seattle where we will head down the whole West coast (stops in Portland, Eureka, SF, Santa Cruz, LA, San Diego. From there we are going to Phoenix, denver, Kansas City, St. louis... circling back to new york...

so any posters who who think they can help me out please let me know if i will be nearby any places to stop and play poker...

thanks,
beezos

If you are going to come through the badlands/blackhills area then you should stop and play some in Deadwood, SD. The wiki has a lot of information on various rooms around the country, and I think the information I have in there for Deadwood is up to date mostly.

While in Phoenix Casino AZ and/or Fort McDowell, see the wiki write up on them.

While in South Bend, you can go to Resorts or Trump Casinos in Gary. Big No-Limit games on the weekend at Trump and good Limit action at Resorts. You can see one from the other, so go to both!

Between SF and LA, there are a few card rooms depending on which way you are coming.

Both Ameristar and Harrah's are in both Kansas City and St Louis.

If you would decide to head back east via a more southerly route....say Phoenix up to Flagstaff, Ablbuquerque, Amarillo, then into Oklahoma, there are poker rooms popping up all over in Oklahoma. One near OK City, two in Tulsa, two in Miami just before you cross over into Missouri. You would also be running the modern day interstate replacement for the old Route 66, and there is some interesting stuff related to that along the way. You would pass through the Ozarks region of Missouri....pretty country...and wind up In St Louis.

Gotta say...as someone who has lived in Missouri most of my life....and a while in Kansas as a kid.....driving across Kansas is not the most interesting drive. I-70 between KC and STL isn't real exciting either. Course....neither is Oklahoma.....but that state has more poker rooms now.

Whatever you decide....have a great time!

to continue with the southerly return home an obvious stop would be Tunica, Miss which arguably has some of the best games in the south.

Obviously there are the various rooms in the Gary/Chicago area.
I would think that a stop at Canterbury in Minnesota would be in order too.

MicroBob has a very good point. If you came the southerly route I described, once you hit Springfield MO, you would head southeast down toward Memphis/Tunica. Beale St., lots of blues related stuff, and to miss Tunica would be a shame. Cheap (but nice) rooms....good food....great poker. Bout 7 hrs from Springfield to Tunica. Much better choice than StL...IMHO.

Lots of poker rooms up in the mountains about an hour away from Denver, but the $5 betting limit in Colorado makes for less than super duper cash games, but there's some decent smaller tourneys held daily. Of course if you're up in the Rockies you might want to do some hiking rather than sitting at a Poker table.

I would suggest going from San Diego to Phoneix via Las Vegas & Laughlin...

Hit up vegas via I-4 from SD & then hit up Phoneix via US 95 & continue down thru the desert to Phoneix....

Phoneix also has a few card rooms along I-10 (about 10 miles off e/w but you'll see signs)

I mean why not hit the mecca of poker (VEGAS) and it's ugly mishapen retarded sister....

In cali of course there are tons of rooms to be found.... Very cool road trip, hopefully you don't have a bunch of bad beats and be forced to start driving again. [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
